This is a casual restaurant that is clean and has quick service. I've had lunch here a few times and can easily have a sit down lunch on a lunch hour. I always order the lunch special - hot and sour soup served first, then the entree. The entree includes veggies, either rice or chow mein and a variety of options for the main course. The food comes steaming hot, fresh out of the kitchen! My go to order is crispy spicy chefs prawns with chow mein. They also have a chicken version of this dish. Lunch menu also includes veggie, beef and pork options. If you haven't been, give it a try.

Went on a Friday during lunch. Ordered their lunch special that comes with soup and an entree plate. Portions are big, we all left with a box to go. Not overly aesthetic inside but food and service was amazing and reasonably priced around $16-$17. I'll definitely be back to try other items!

been coming here since they opened YEARS ago and honestly the quality has been up and down. but this time it is definitely a double thumbs up. I took my chinese relatives and they enjoyed all the dishes. Personally I think the taste is great! I hope this chef will stay here and keep cooking these dishes.

Hang Ah dim sum is the best Chinese food around. They have the best lunches at a good price. My favorite lunch is the Kung Po 3 combo with beef, shrimp, and scallops and chow mein. They are very consistent in their quality and the food is good. If you like dim sum they have a lot of different dishes to offer. Everything is cooked to order and served hot and fresh. I try to go at 11:00 or 1:00 because the place is usually packed at 12:00. The service is very good. As for the ambiance it tends to get crowded and noisy but It is what it is. Cooked fresh is way better than Panda Express, try it and it will be your favorite place too!

It's convenient not to have to drive far, but this place has a few drawbacks. The biggest issue is the portion sizes --they're quite skimpy and they added a lot of filler or removed protein. The chive dumplings, for example, had less than one shrimp spread across four pieces, and they were much smaller than what I've had at other places. The wrappers were also thick and gummy. The ho fun was mostly bean sprouts with very few noodles, though the flavor was good. The rice rolls were also too thick. The pea shoots were decent, but overall, the meal was lacking. It's nice to have a local spot, but the quality needs improvement.

Hang Ah Dim Sum offers a delightful blend of authentic Hong Kong dim sum and American Chinese dishes, providing a diverse culinary experience right in wine country! Their menu boasts traditional dim sum items like Steamed Shanghai Dumplings, Pot Stickers, and Green Onion Pancakes, which stand on par with the quality you'd find in San Francisco's renowned Chinese restaurants. Each bite is a taste to their commitment to authenticity and fresh ingredients. But Hang Ah doesn't stop there; they also cater to those craving American Chinese favorites. Dishes like Mushu Pork and other typical Panda Express-style offerings add a familiar touch to the menu, making it a great spot for diverse tastes. The BBQ Pork Buns and Shrimp Stuffed Eggplant highlight their versatility, ensuring that every dish, whether traditional or Americanized, is prepared with precision and care. Don't miss their rare Chinese Donut in Rice Roll and Beef Chow Fun - these are absolute must-tries! Now, let's set the right expectations--this review focuses on the outstanding quality of the food, not the service. Culturally, Chinese restaurants prioritize delivering top-notch food over impeccable service, and Hang Ah Dim Sum is no exception. So, while the service experience might vary, rest assured that the quality of the dim sum and dishes will consistently impress. If you're looking for a place where traditional Hong Kong flavors meet American Chinese favorites, Hang Ah Dim Sum in Santa Rosa is your go-to spot!

Santa Rosa standards: 5 stars SF bay area standards: 3.5 stars If this restaurant was in sf, it'd be a pretty decent Chinese place to eat, but since it's in Santa Rosa, where good Chinese food is hard to get, it's pretty freakn good. The best way to test how good a Chinese restaurant is to order off the menu and that's what we did with a wet stir fry beef with flat noodle. It was full of the right sauce - thick and oyster flavored. The noodles tasted fresh and cooked just right. Was also craving dim sum so we got fried daikon, crispy and soft inside; fried to perfection. Also got flat noodles with Chinese donut inside, a dish that's hard to find even in sf restaurants; it satisfied the craving. Fast service and clean. I'd definitely come back to this restaurant when I'm deep in Marin/Sonoma County.

Added a star for their serving staff improvement. Many years ago, the first time I came in, the staff barely spoke English and the ordering was a lot more chaotic. Now ordering is smoother and goes to the correct table. The staff's communication and service is much improved! I recommend the lunch specials they have. It comes with sweet and sour soup that has mushrooms and bamboo. I prefer the choice of the fried rice over chow mien.
